INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS


Date: 14-08-2023  and 15-08-2023

Venue: Seminar Hall, St. Peter's Training College, Kolenchery 

Objective: to commemorate the freedom fighters and struggle for independence.

    St. Peter's B.Ed. Training College in association with the English Club organized Independence Day celebrations on 14th and 15th of August 2023.The aim of the programme was to create a spirit of patriotism and to commemorate the freedom fighters. The occasion was graced by Dr.Raji K Paul , Principal of St Peter's College, Kolenchery. 

    The event on 14th of August featured a variety of activities and ceremonies that captured the spirit of patriotism and unity.Various competitions- Patriotic song, speech and quiz- were held. 
An awareness class was also conducted at the Government LP School Kolenchery to create an awareness about the importance of Independence and to develop a sense of nationalism among students.

    On 15th of August Flag Hoisting Ceremony was organized in association with the St. Peter's D. L. Ed Training Institute. A parade was conducted through the Kolenchery town raising the slogans of patriotism and independence. Later, all the students assembled to form a spectacular view of India Map which indeed added colour to the event. The prize distribution of various competitions as part of Independence Day were also done on 15th of August.

Placement Drive  Date               :  Venue           : St. Peter's Training College, Kolenchery  The HR Connect Placement Drive was conducted at St. Peter's Training College, Kolenchery on          .The resource person was Mr. Ragesh G, Founder School Connect HR. It was conducted for the senior students and was a pivotal initiative aimed at bridging the gap between vocation and training. Through meticulous planning and execution the placement drive provided students with invaluable opportunities for internships.

 YOGA DAY The word yoga is derived from the Sanskrit root  yuj , meaning “to yoke,” or “to unite”. The practice aims to create union between body, mind and spirit, as well as between the individual self and universal consciousness. Such a union tends to neutralize ego-driven thoughts and behaviours, creating a sense of spiritual awakening. Date               : 14-09-2023 Venue             : St Peter's College, Kolenchery Objective     : To learn about various yoga postures Resource person : Ms Keerthi A training workshop on yoga was conducted on 14th September 2023 at the college Seminar Hall. The session started at 10.00 am where the resource person Ms. Keerthi introduced the history of yoga and its importance. She gave a demonstration of various asanas, pranayamas and meditation.
